Silent Beach
Silent Beach, also known as Godellawela Beach, is a peaceful and secluded spot located just outside Tangalle, on Sri Lanka’s southern coast. Known for its golden sands, clear turquoise waters, and swaying palm trees, it offers a serene escape from the busier tourist beaches. It’s perfect for relaxing, sunbathing, and quiet beach walks. While swimming is possible, the waves can be strong, so caution is advised. The beach is best visited during the dry season from November to April, when the sea is calmer and the weather is ideal for enjoying the natural beauty.
Goyambokka Beach
Almost as beautiful as Silent Beach is Goyambokka Beach, which is only a few meters away. Goyambokka Beach could not be more different from Silent Beach. At Goyambokka Beach, one beach bar is lined up next to the other, there are beach chairs to rent and of course the delicious King Coconuts are offered everywhere. Goyambokka Beach is much more popular for swimming than Silent Beach, not least because there are more people there, making it seem comparatively safer to swim.
Pallikaduwa Beach
Pallikaduwa Beach is a tranquil coastal retreat located just west of Tangalle, Sri Lanka.
